But on recent research about fruit I found that not only are they good for your health but for our skins as well. Fruit masks are incredibly effective in treating skin from dry/oily skin, anti-aging etc. The problem, however, can sometimes arise with the costs of these treatments at the spa. Not to worry, though, if got you covered:) I have researched, tried (& looove) various fruit masks, that you can make yourself, quickly and easily right there in your kitchen, and I have compiled my favorite masks that I go to time and time again, to keep my skin in tip top shape, incl. pre shoots, events etc.

1) Cherry & Strawberry Anti Age Buster

Cherries have anti aging and skin lightening properties due their high volumes of vitamins, beta carotene and anti oxidants. Strawberries are also rich in Vitamin C and Salicylic acid which is also vital to aiding against skin aging. Together these 2 make a winning combination to keep your youthful glow. The mask is so easy to make: Simply mix together 6 crushed, ripe cherries and strawberries. Mix in a tablespoon of one of my favorite beauty ingredients, honey. Apply on your face for about half an hour, before rinsing off. This mask, with continuous use, really does help in slowing down the hands of time – dramatically;)

2) Mango Yogi Glow

As a woman (& men too:)), we know that there is nothing more important, in our beauty regimen, that the pursuit of healthy, glowing skin. This Mango Yoghurt mask gives us just that. Because the mangos have a lot of vitamins C in them and Yoghurt is packed with lactic acid. Lactic Acid is known for its skin softening abilities. (No wonder Cleopatra bathed in milk). This wonder ingredients, breaks down the “glue” between skin cells, which in turn causes them to “fall away”, revealing new, shiny and healthier skin underneath. The combination of the mango and yoghurt therefore makes for one powerful skin care mask. It helps immensely with cell regeneration and removal of pigmentation and skin dullness. To whizz this up, just mix together a couple tablespoons of mango pulp with 1 Tbl of yoghurt. Apply for 15-20 mins, rinse and glow glow glow ๐Ÿ™‚

Grapes are not only delicious to snack on but are amazing to treat your skin with. The Phytonutrients in them have anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. The vitamin C and antioxidants fight against free radicals and help control the appearance of dark spots and wrinkles. To get rid of minor acne and blemishes, mash a few grapes and apply pulp to your face. Allow the mask to dry and then wash off. The results are almost immediate.

A great added benefit of these gorgeous fruit, is that they assist with removing those tans of ours when we’ve spent a little too much time lying in the sun. They give the skin a glow and brighten our skin leaving it smooth and healthy. Mash the pulp of papaya. Massage onto skin and leave on for 15 minutes.
