Tis the season, luvs, and Christmas is finally almost here and I have the perfect eggnog recipe to tantalize your and your guests tastebuds with every sip😛 This recipe is beautifully spiced with all of those warm Christmas flavors like, cloves, cinnamon, nutmeg and has the most fabulous kick of brandy or what I love to use, white chocolate liquer, all working together in perfect harmony to create the most dreamy festive drink.
And as if that isn’t enough, I have included the recipe on how to turn this already sublime, tipple into a moreish festive ice cream /dessert. I promise, once you try these, they will be on your festive “must haves” list for years to come.
Ok so let’s get this done, and ready to serve in time for your family feast. 🤗
Tis the Season, Eggnog
1 1/2-2 tsp mixed spice
1tsp vanilla essence /seeds scraped from 1 vanilla pod
6 egg yolks
1/4 – 1/2C brandy/rum or white chocolate liquor
2tsp vanilla essence
Slowly boil together the milk, spices, 1tsp of vanilla essence in a saucepan, over low heat.
Pin anither bowl, whisk together yolks and sugar till fluffy. Add the egg mixture slowly to the milk and cook over medium heat, stirring continuously, till thicker. (Do not allow mixture to boil). Once cooked, remove from heat and cool.
Once cool, add cream, brandy and 2tsp vanilla. Refrigerate till cold.
To serve, pour Into your favorite festive glasses and add a cinnamon stick on top.
Festive Eggnog Ice Cream
To turn this nog, into a great dessert that all your guests will love, simply add either dark chopped chocolate /chocolate chips or Christmas cake/pudding mix to the eggnog mix as indicated above. Pour into container and freeze for a few hours (pref overnight). Remember to stir the ice cream every hour or so till set.
